Betty Conrad Foster, 83, of Keymar, died Friday, April 24, 2015, at Frederick Memorial Hospital, after a brief illness. Born April 28, 1931 in Broom County NY, she was the daughter of the late George and Grace Letson Conrad. Betty will be remembered as a wonderful and intelligent woman. She was an active member of Keymar Evangelical Wesleyan Church. She loved birds and enjoyed playing games, crossword puzzles, spending time with her family and going to Seyfert Camp. She was a prayer warrior and will be remembered for her wit and dry sense of humor. Betty was a 1951 graduate of Charles S. Wilson Memorial School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse at Frederick Memorial Hospital and other healthcare facilities until retiring. Surviving are sons, William Foster and wife Janyce of Pinellas Park FL, Lawrence Foster and wife Barbara of Taneytown and Thomas Foster of Dunnellon FL; daughter Kathryn Barnes and husband Perry of Keymar; grandchildren, Kimberly Peterson and husband Eric, Christopher Foster and companion Stephanie Cash, Karla Wells and husband Paul, Nathan Foster and wife Holly, Lisa Lynch and husband Clay, Gary Barnes and wife Lauren, Kurtis Barnes, Erik Barnes, Abigail Barnes, Derek Vandercook, Kristen Lerch and husband Joshua; great-grandchildren Trinity, Colby, Aidin, Isaiah, Joshua, Kaeleb, Lucas, Cayden, Asher, Gabriel, Grayson, Graham, Jacob and twin boys soon to arrive and sister, Marion Marias of Bend, OR. She was predeceased by son, George Foster; grandson Jason Foster and brother, William Conrad. The family will receive friends at Hartzler Funeral Home, 404 S. Main Street, Woodsboro, Tuesday, April 28 from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday. April 29, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Jade Rogers, her pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Woodsboro.
