Betty Hibbs, 86, of Sykesville (formerly of Catonsville) entered peacefully into Heaven on Sunday, February 14, 2016, at home. She was born on May 8, 1929 to Thelma and Anthony Moelter in Baltimore, MD. Beloved wife of 63 years to Lewis C. Hibbs, Sr.; Loving mother of Lewis C. Hibbs, Jr. and wife Susan and Karen A. Covino and husband Steve; Cherished grandmother of Michael and Bobby Covino, Lewis III, and Abigail Hibbs; Dear Sister of Anna Mae Leek. She is also survived by other family members and friends. Betty was a member of the Wesley Freedom United Methodist Church, the Ladies Auxiliary of Dewey Lowman American Legion Post 109, and the Sykesville Freedom District Fire Department. She loved to volunteer in her community and had an extensive magnet collection. She loved her family and friends and will be greatly missed. However, she appreciated the long and healthy life she lived with her loving husband. Relatives and Friends are invited to call at the Sterling Ashton Schwab Witzke Funeral Home of Catonsville, Inc., 1630 Edmondson Avenue, Catonsville, MD 21228 on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 from 3 to 5pm and 7 to 9pm, where funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2016, 11:00am, led by her pastor, Rev. Dr. Bill Brown. Interment Lorraine Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Carroll Hospice, Inc., 292 Stoner Avenue, Westminster, MD 21157, www.carrollhospice.org.
