Betty Jane Beaver, 78, of Chambersburg, Pa., died Tuesday, July 2, 2013, from injuries sustained in a car accident in Grand Haven, Mich., while in town to celebrate her 60th wedding anniversary.

Born June 27, 1935, in Westminster, she was the daughter of Wilbur and Mariam Brashaers. She was the wife of Carl Beaver, whom she married on July 3, 1953.

She was a hair stylist for more than 35 years and owned two different hair salons, Beaver's Beauty Salon and Kuts and Kurls Hair Salon. She was a member of Gladys Wimert Lioness Club in Westminster.

She enjoyed reading, making various craft projects and cross-stitching.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are daughter Terry Winesett and husband Adrian, of Grand Haven, Mich.; son Scott Beaver and wife Lisa, of Littlestown, Pa.; grandchildren Ashley Winesett, of Ypsilanti, Miss., and Brittany Noss and husband Eric, of Littlestown; brother, Robert Brashaers, of McSherrystown, Pa.; step-sisters Shirley Brown and husband Ray, of New Windsor, and Dolly and husband Satch, of Virginia; sister-in-law Lore Brashaers, of Germany; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brother, Shirley Brashaers.

A memorial service for Betty will be announced at a later date after her husband is released from the hospital.
