Betty Jo Green, 88, of Westminster, died December 9, 2014 at her home. Born August 19, 1926 near Ft. Worth, TX, she was the daughter of the late Robert D. and Anna Zwatchka Martin. She was the wife of Howard W. Green, whom she married March 14, 1942. Betty was a homemaker who enjoyed crafts of all kinds, including needlework, and was an avid quilter. Many of the quilts she created were donated to children's hospitals through Project Linus. She loved to play Bridge and was a member of The Woman's Club of Glyndon. She and her husband were members of Sandy Mount United Methodist Church. Surviving in addition to her husband are daughters and sons-in-law Barbara and Robert Griner of Rockville and Joyce and Michael Pyles of Timonium; grandchildren and spouses Amy (James) Gaskin, Jennifer (Greg) Gombos, Matthew (Tami) Pyles, Jessica (Daniel) Gibson and Nicholas (Heather) Griner; and great grandchildren Molly, Jamie, Jacob, Madison, Caden, Claire, Carson, Sydney, Cameron and Jillian. Her sister Mary Ash predeceased her. The family will receive friends at PRITTS FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster on Tuesday from 6-8 pm. The family will also receive friends from 10:30 am until the start of services at 11 am on Wednesday at the Krug Chapel at Carroll Lutheran Village, 300 St. Luke Circle, Westminster. Officiating will be Rev. Wm. Louis Piel, assisted by Chaplain Jimmie Schwartz. Interment will be private and at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157.
