Betty Virginia Catano, 83, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, at Union Memorial Hospital.

Born Aug. 9, 1929, in West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Ottie Rose McKenzie. She was the wife of Vincent H. Catano, her husband of 54 years.

She enjoyed cooking, baking and gardening. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and babysitting her grandchildren for many years.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are daughters and sons-in-law Susan and Chuck Brown, of Westminster, and Robyn and David Dailey, of Woodbine; a sister, Grace Serio, of Baltimore; a sister-in-law, Pauline McKenzie, of Strongsville, Ohio; grandchildren Vincent Brown and Brooks Brown, both of Westminster, Nick Brown and fiancee Brittney Romberger, of Littlestown, Pa., and McKenzie and Craig Dailey, both of Woodbine; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by siblings Charles, Andrew and Evelyn McKenzie.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Haight Funeral Home and Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Marriottsville.
