Brenda Strevig Haines, 66, of Westminster, died Friday, March 8, 2013, at University of Maryland Medical Center.

Born July 14, 1946, in Westminster, she was the daughter of the late John Strevig and Mary Barnhart Strevig. She was the wife of Richard R. Haines, her husband of 50 years.

Before retiring, she worked in dietary at Carroll Hospital Center for 25 years and prior to that worked at Avenue Tailors. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. She enjoyed spending time with her sister and going out to eat.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are daughter and son-in-law Stacy and Will Bowman, of New Windsor; sisters Irene Bailey and Gladys Bauerline, both of Westminster; a step-grandson, Troy Bowman, of New Windsor; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Barbara and Gordon Caples, of Westminster; and nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was predeceased by sisters Shirley Mengel, Dee Strevig and Jean Geouge.

A celebration of life service will be held privately at a later date.
