Brendan Joseph Kearney, 82, of Woodstock, died Saturday, June 30, 2012, at Seasons Hospice at Northwest Hospital Center in Randallstown.

Born Aug. 29, 1929, in Dublin, Ireland, he was the son of the late Henry and Eileen Fitzpatrick Kearney. He was the husband of Mary Catherine "Cass" Drechsler Kearney.

He attended St. Bartholomew's Catholic Church. He had been manager for the Bank of Ireland and was a member of the Castle Golf Club in Rathfarnham, Dublin; and a member of the Seven Springs Golf Club in Newport Ritchey, Fla.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are sons and daughters-in-law Peter and Margaret Kearney, Mark and Orla Kearney, and John and Anne Kearney, all of Dublin; a daughter, Sharon Kearney, of Dublin; stepsons and wives Michael and Jeanne Sterner, of Ellicott City, and Thomas and Linda Sterner, of Hampstead; grandchildren Sarah-Jane, Shane, Niamh, Alannah and Mark Kearney; and step-grandchildren Jennifer, Russell and Stacie Sterner.

A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, (old historic church), 3071 Park Ave., Manchester, with the Rev. Father Michael Roach as celebrant.

Per his wishes, he will be cremated and his remains will be taken back to Ireland.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Seasons Hospice, 6934 Aviation Blvd. #N, Glen Burnie, MD 21061.
