Brian Russell May, 60, of Taneytown, and formerly of New Windsor, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Copper Ridge in Sykesville. He was born on May 11, 1956 in Tacoma Park, MD and was the son of James C. May, Sr. and step-son of Millie May of Frederick and the late Margaret L. Heflin May. He was the loving husband of Cynthia L. "Cindy" Uhler May, whom he married in 1996. Brian was a Milieu Officer and was employed at Sheppard Pratt Hospital and had previously worked as a psychiatric security technician for the state of Maryland. He enjoyed traveling, golfing, and hunting. For many years he participated in the Polar Bear Plunge for the Special Olympics. He was of the Baptist faith. Surviving in addition to his wife are children Carissa A. Vaughn of Taneytown and Darren J. McLaughlin of Taneytown; brothers and sisters-in-law Timothy J. and Jan May of Birchwood, TN, Keith W. and Vicki May of Linthicum; Mother-in-law Clara E. Uhler of Finksburg; brother-in-law Robert L. Uhler of Finksburg; sister-in-law Faye J. Woodward of Taneytown; father-in-law and wife Robert E. and Mary Uhler of Finksburg; 3 niece and 3 nephews and several great-nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother James C. May, Jr.. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 30, 2016 from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 pm in the chapel of Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster where a service will be held at 8 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Paul Matthews officiating. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the , 1850 York Rd., Suite D, Timonium MD 21093.
