Brooxxie B. Layton Moxley, 81, of Mount Airy, died Sunday, May 4, 2014, at home.

Born May 14, 1932, in Woodbine, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Layton and Brooxxie Green Layton. She was the wife of the late Leo William "Bill" Moxley.

She was a homemaker. She was retired from the International Harvester. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and enjoyed needlework, crocheting and bingo.

Surviving are children Connie Bly, Cindy Glenn and Christine Hyman; a sister, Doris Shipley; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Anke Deibler, of Calvary Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will be in Poplar Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery in Poplar Springs.
