Bufort Perry, age 85 of Sykesville, died Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster. Born December 16, 1931 in Sneedville, TN, he was the son of the late Louis "Duke" and Shrilda E. Barnard Perry. He was the husband of Ruth Green Perry of Sykesville, his wife of 64 years. Bufort had been a dairy farmer and a building supervisor at South Carroll High School. He loved fishing, crabbing and was a longtime member of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to his wife are son and daughter-in-law, James L. and Denise Perry, daughter and son-in-law, Deborah D. and Wayne Mullinix, sisters Joan Krickler and her husband Keith, and Truman Carrillo, sisters-in-law Mary Livesay Perry, Mary Perry, grandson Christopher L. Perry, granddaughter and her husband, Tori and Bill Custred, and great grandchildren Benjamin and Thomas Custred. He was predeceased by his brothers Rev. Foster Perry and Ace Perry and his sister Lucille Gaudet. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 30, 2017 from 2 to 4pm & 6 to 8pm at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Rd., Sykesville. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at 11am at Sharon Missionary Baptist Church (Route 144 and McKendree Road), West Friendship. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Carroll Hospice Dove House, 292 Stoner Avenue, Westminster, MD 21157.
