Carl Christopher "Chris" Gibson, 44, of Westminster, died Saturday, June 15, 2013, at Golden Living Center in Westminster.

Born June 3, 1969, in Baltimore, he was the son of Carl C. and LouAnn Waters Gibson, of Thurmont. He was the husband of Jeanne Thompson Gibson, whom he married Sept. 12, 2009.

He had been a salesman working in the automotive and furniture industry. He was also the self-published author of "The Reluctant" and "The Willing" novels, under the nom de plume C.S. Splitter. He was an avid sports fan, following the Orioles, Redskins and the Steelers. He enjoyed music and his Chihuahua, Freddie, and attended Friendship Baptist Church.

Surviving, in addition to his parents and wife, are a son, Jacob Gibson, of Memphis, Tenn.; cousin Rick and wife Sharon Gibson, of New Windsor; uncles Clarence Gibson and wife Betty, of Westminster, and Olen Gibson, of Woodbine; in-laws Patricia and Paul Thompson, of Westminster; sisters-in-law Leslie Thompson, of Westminster, and Deborah Muscarella and husband Patrick, of California; nieces Emma Thompson and Olivia Muscarella; and many friends he met on the Internet.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
