C. Edward "Eddie" Haines Jr., 58, of Hagerstown, formerly of Westminster, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown.

Born March 19, 1954 in Carroll County, he was the son of Bettie Taylor Haines and C. Edward Haines Sr., of Taneytown.

He was a 1972 graduate of Westminster High School, where he played football, basketball, baseball and track. He worked in maintenance and enjoyed watching the Ravens and the Orioles, and camping.

Surviving, in addition to his parents, are sons and daughter-in-law Brett and Sarah Haines, of Westminster; Jason Haines and fiance Brandy Elder, of Frederick; and Michael Haines, of Walkersville; daughter and son-in-law Krista and Kenny Mayne, of Keymar; sisters and brother-in-laws Rachel and Freddie Graham, of New Windsor, Christine and Marvin Mehring, of Woodsboro; and a brother and sister-in-law Barry and Margaret Haines, of Taneytown; grandchildren Jasmine, Ethan, Aiden, Mikaylee, Brantley, Jaxon and Emily Haines and Derrick Mayne.

He was predeceased by son Jonathan E. Haines.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until the 7 p.m. memorial service Wednesday at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.
