Calvin Aldine Bynaker, 84, of Westminster died Monday, October 3, 2016 at Carroll Lutheran Village. He was born February 16, 1932 in New Market, Virginia, and was the son of the late Hardie Jackson and Pamley Shaffer Bynaker. He was the husband of the late Doris Louise Bynaker, who predeceased him in April 2012. Calvin was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Korean War, Company "B", 74th Division Combat Engineer. Calvin was employed for the Westminster Coca-Cola Bottling Company as a production supervisor, for 37 years until the company closed in 1991. He then worked for Carroll Lutheran Village in the maintenance department,until 2011. He was an avid outdoors man and enjoyed hunting, fishing and crabbing on the Chesapeake Bay. Calvin's greatest passion was his garden, which he took great pride in sharing it with others. He was known for his dedication, hard work, the willingness to help others, and always having a smile on his face. Surviving him are daughters Linda Bynaker and companion Bruce McVay of Lighthouse Point, FL, Judy and husband Dan Haines of Union Bridge,MD, Gwen Bell of Hanover, PA; grandchildren Brian Bynaker and wife Stephanie of Hanover, PA, and Calie McVay of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; great-grandchildren Kirsten, Brook, and Amber Bynaker all of Hanover, PA. He was predeceased by his son Gary L. Bynaker; grandson Benjamin Kyle Bynaker; daughter-in-law Tammy J. Bynaker in 2011. Sisters Dorothy Minnick, Louise Darr, Grace Shorb, Helen Gesell; brothers William, Roy, John, Richard, Orin Sisler, and infant twin brothers. He was the last of his immediate family. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 6, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster MD. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 7 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Chaplain Jimmie Schwartz officiating. Interment with military honors will be in Meadow Branch Cemetery.
