Calvin John Branham, 76, of Westminster, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2015 at his home, after a long battle with Prostate Cancer and Parkinson's disease. Born on November 27, 1938 near Lynchburg, VA, he was the son of the late Calvin and Birdie Johns Branham. He was the husband of Ellen Estelle Branham, his wife of 56 years. Calvin had attended Baltimore City College and the University of Baltimore. He had served in the United States Army, 3rd Infantry Division in Germany during the Cuban Missle Crisis and Berlin Wall Construction. After his discharge from the Army, Calvin worked in accounting or managerial positions at the Baltimore plants for Vulcan Hart Corp., Schaefer Brewery, and the Sherwin Williams Paint Company. He retired on February 20, 1998. He was a member of the Monachan Indian Tribe of Bear Mountain, VA. Surviving in addition to his wife are daughters Deborah Dell of Millers and Beverly Petenbrink of Union Bridge; son Michael Branham of Gray, TN; and grandchildren Brandi and Christine Raine, Cassidy Dell, Alexandra Petenbrunk,Tessa Branham, Cheyanne Petenbrink, Zachary Branham, and Clayton Dell. He was predeceased by grandson Austin James; sisters Cora Haynie and Mae Brown; and by brothers Harvey Branham and Lenward Branham. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Deacon Paul Cooke officiating. Interment will be in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens, Marriottsville.
