Calvin Lee Lockard, 84, of New Windsor, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 10, 2017. Born on May 19, 1933, in Frederick, Maryland, to the late George and Mary (Currens) Lockard. Lee was a graduate of Frederick High School, class of 1951. He went on to serve in the United States Army from 1953-1955, honorably discharged with the rank of Corporal. Lee was employed with the Biological Division at Fort Detrick in Frederick. After Fort Detrick, he was a rural mail carrier for the United States Postal Service. Lee attended the Edgewood Church of the Brethren in New Windsor. He was an avid bowler for his entire life and most recently at Greenmount Bowl. He enjoyed spending time with his special friends at Springdale Village. Lee loved to help friends and family build, fix or repair just about anything. He also enjoyed watching the Orioles and Ravens games. Lee is survived by his three daughters, Debra Jean Clay and husband Michael, Terry Lee La Scola and husband Vince, and Amy Lynn Turner and husband Tom. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; two siblings, Betty Day and William "Buck" Lockard; and his many close friends. Lee treasured his years spent alongside Janet Evanick, who preceded him in 2013. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Polly Jones. The family will have a Celebration of Christian Life at 1 PM on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at the Edgewood Church of the Brethren, 15025 New Windsor Rd., New Windsor, Maryland 21776. His service will be officiated by Pastor R. Dallas Greene. Interment will be held privately in a Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Edgewood Church of the Brethren, PO Box 238, New Windsor, Maryland 21776 or to Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Avenue, Westminster, Maryland 21157.
