Carol Jean Sanner, 73, of Finksburg, died Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Born Sept. 11, 1939, in Winston Salem, N.C., raised in Hampton, Va., she was the daughter of the late Lona Queen Prevette and Charles Clayton Prevette. She was the wife of Richard I. Sanner Jr., her husband of 49 years.

Before retiring, she worked as a secretary for her husband's business, Sanner's Paving and Sealing Company. In her younger days, she worked as a waitress, and then a homemaker. She was an avid Baltimore Ravens Fan.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are daughters and sons-in-law Debra Sheats and David, Terry Huff and Bob, Tina Snyder and Cecil, all of Westminster; son and daughter-in-law Richard Sanner III and Kelly, of Hanover, Pa.; siblings Frances Ingram, Comielee Prevette, Gerald Prevette, Robert Prevette, Betty Hayes and husband Walt, all of Virginia; grandchildren Dawn and husband Doug Austin, Robert Huff and partner RJ Bernocco, Nicole and Chris Rabil, Bethany Snyder and boyfriend Ricky Baker, Andrew Snyder, Justin Snyder, Chad Sanner and Dave Sheats; great-grandchildren Kailah, Jordan, Landen, Chloe, Aubre and Timothy; and extended family Cora Stinchcomb of Cicero, Ind., Larry, Stacey and Lucas Huber, all of Westminster.

She was predeceased by a stepdaughter, Penny Rockwood Sanner.

The family will receive friends from noon until the time of Celebration of Life service, 1 p.m. Sunday at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster. Interment will be private.
