Mrs. Carole "Nanny" Lucille Miller Steinhauer, age 65, of Paris Crossing, Indiana, entered this life on August 8, 1949 in Monkton, Maryland. She was the loving daughter of John and LuRaine Koppen Miller. She was a graduate of Carroll County High School in Greenmount, Maryland and a member of the Greenmount United Methodist Church. Carole had attended Indianapolis Business College and received an associate degree in accounting. On October 10, 1969 she was united in marriage to Wesley Leonard Steinhauer at the Greenmount United Methodist Church. This union was blessed with one daughter, Cindy. She had resided in Indiana since 1970 and enjoyed her trips back home to Greenmount. Carole was employed for twenty five years with the Madison State Hospital in Madison with cost accounting. She was a member of the Greenmount United Methodist Church, ABWA, Siberian Huskies of Central Indiana, Louisville Kennel Club and the Columbus Kennel Club. Carole enjoyed raising Siberian Huskies, knitting, crocheting, cross stitching, gardening, reading, sewing, drawing, and roller skating. Carole died on Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at 4:00 p.m. at her home near Paris Crossing, Indiana. A LOVING FAMILY: Carole will be missed by her loving daughter, Cindy Bentz and her husband, Chris of Paris Crossing, Indiana; her loving mother, LuRaine Miller of Hampstead, Maryland; her granddaughters, Baileigh and Taylor Bentz; her brother, Raymond Miller and his wife, Terry; her sister, Martha Jones and her husband, Bill of Leonardtown, Maryland; her nephews, Billy and John Jones and Michael Miller; her niece, Stephanie Burkhalter. She was preceded in death by her father, John Miller, her grandson, Dylan K. Bentz, died August 19, 1995. FUNERAL CEREMONY: Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, December 7, 2014, at 3:00 p.m., by The Rev. Evelyn Wheeler at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Grandview Memorial Gardens, 9306 North US 421 near Madison, Indiana VISITATION: Friends may call Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. MEMORIAL EXPRESSIONS: Memorial contributions may be made to the Jefferson County Animal Shelter or the . Cards are available at the funeral home.
