Carolyn C Kindt age 92 of Sykesville, died on December 9,2016 in her residence at Homestead in Sykesville, MD. She was the daughter of the late William and Rose (Nahrgang) Pomrink of Philadelphia, PA. Carol worked at I.T.E. Circuit Breaker Co. A war defense plant during WW ll and was an electrical tester that operated AC and DC generators, she calibrated and tested circuit breakers that were installed in U.S. Navy ships. She met her future husband Bernard Kindt at the defense plant when returning soldiers came back for their jobs. She was on the list of the next to leave and as she said 'He got the job, I got the man.' Their life continued in the Army with multiple moves including being stationed in Alaska before it was a state, Fort Lewis, Fort Knox and finally Fort Meade where they made their home in Jessup MD for 23 years. She worked at E.J.Korvette Home Furnishing Distribution Center as an administrative Assistant for 10 years. After retirement they spent 25 years in Sarasota, Florida before coming home. Carol enjoyed family, reading, sewing and working on the computer. The South Carroll Senior Center was her favorite place and loved ceramics classes. She is survived by two sons Lawrence Kindt and daughter-in-law Bonny Kindt of Sykesville, and son Bernard Kindt of North Point, Florida. She is also survived by Grandson Christopher Kindt and Shara Suddath and great-grandchild Josephine Rose Kindt of Sykesville. Granddaughter Rachel Friscia and Joshua Friscia of Severn, MD. She was predeceased by her husband, four brothers William, Joseph, Frank and Bernard and three sisters Anne, Florence and Catherine. Inurnment will be at Lake View Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Witzke Funeral Home in Columbia, MD.
