Carolyn Elaine Pervi, a 40-year resident of Falls Church, Virginia, passed away on May 1, 2017, at age 71. Carol (as she preferred) was born in Baltimore, Maryland, to Ernest Leroy and Helen Marie Canoles. She graduated from North Carroll High School (when located in Greenmount, Maryland) in 1963 and is an alumnus of St. Mary's College of Maryland. She worked for the Central Intelligence Agency before moving to the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) which is headquartered in Washington, DC. She did a tour at the American Embassy in the Philippines and rose to the rank of DIA analyst before her retirement after 32 years. Carol loved cats and birds so was an avid supporter of animal causes. She also enjoyed travel especially when she got to visit family and friends. Carol was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her sister Karen (Kay) Canoles Moore, nephew Bryan G. Moore, his wife Kristina Newcomb Moore, and their children Hailey Elise and Austin Connor. Per her wishes, all services will be private. She will be interred in the family burial plot at Black Rock Cemetery in Butler, Maryland. Those who wish to honor her memory are encouraged to donate to the Animal Welfare League of Arlington (2650 S Arlington Mill Dr, Arlington, VA 22206).
