Carrie May Bauman, 92, of Hampstead, died Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013, at Longview Nursing Home.

Born Feb. 18, 1921, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Wilmer and Carrie May Bell Bauman. She was the former wife of Herbert Hopkins Zeigler Sr., who died June 10, 1999.

She had retired as an assembly worker for Beckers Pretzel Factory, Shindlers Peanut Factory and Gordons Emblem Company.

She enjoyed her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and living on the farm with her daughter and son-in-law and taking care of all the dogs, cats and horses.

Surviving are daughter Valerie May Laird and husband Mark; son Herbert H. Zeigler Jr.and wife Donna; a brother, Frank Shilow; grandchildren Amber Rae Sheppard Reigel, Mark Weston Laird, Jeremy Chad Laird, Lindsay Sue Laird, Matthew Zeigler and Mark Zeigler; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by brothers Wilmer and Bart Shilow.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home, 6028 Sykesville Road, Eldersburg.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
