Mr. Charles Franklin Coe, 92, of Fayetteville, PA and formerly of Carroll County, died Wednesday, October 1, 2015 at his home after an extended illness. Born July 2, 1923 in Taneytown, he was the son of the late Raymond Coe and Edna Rhineaman Coe Huffman. He was the husband of Rev. Dr. Jean D. Coe, his wife of 33 years. In earlier years Mr. Coe was a farmer and worked for several dairies, including Warner's Dairy of Frizzellburg for about 15 years. He then worked at the City of Westminster Water Treatment Plant for 15 years prior to retirement. He was a member of Touch of Faith Inc. in Pennsylvania and following retirement he and his wife devoted time to missionary work in the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia; also in New Mexico and Arizona among Native Americans for 18 years. He enjoyed bowling, especially with several leagues. In addition to his wife he is survived by daughters, Shirley Hatcher and husband Timothy of Goldsboro, NC; Rebecca Bosley and husband Wayne and Judy DeBerry and husband Steven, all of Westminster and Josephine Mellor of Oklahoma; stepdaughters, Stephanie Buckley and husband Frank and Gwyn Cole, all of Pennsylvania and Lisa Dezarn and husband Brett of Florida; sisters, Leatrice Ott of Emmitsburg, Genevieve Pattillo and husband Patrick of New Jersey and Betty Smith of Maryland; 18 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Hartzler Funeral Home, 310 Church St., New Windsor, 9 -11 a.m. Wednesday, October 7 with the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. Dr. Robert Beall. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg.
