Charles Everett Clayville Jr., 81, of Hampstead, died Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at home.

Born Sept. 12, 1931, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Charles Everett Sr. and Maven Maude Hudson Clayville. He was the husband of Marjorie Mae Wolfe Clayville, who died in 2008.

He had served in the Army 3rd Infantry Regiment. Prior to retirement, he had worked as a master carpenter for several construction firms.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an avid gun enthusiast. He attended flea markets, swap meets and auctions.

Surviving are son and daughter-in-law Jeffrey A. and Marion Clayville, of Westminster; a brother, Gary Clayville; and many nieces and nephews, among them Susan R. Brewer, of Glyndon, who was his caregiver.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Wendy Joyce Arndt.

The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. until the time of service, 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Eline Funeral Home, 934 S. Main St., Hampstead, with the Rev. Art Monroe officiating. Interment will be private.
