Charles E. "Ed" Hale, 90, of Hanover, PA, entered God's eternal care, Saturday, November 26, 2016 at the Gettysburg Center. Born April 12, 1926 in Garrison, MD, he was the son of the late Thomas S. and Hester E. (Baublitz) Hale. Ed was the loving husband of Anna V. (Peltzer) Hale with whom he shared seventy years of marriage. Ed was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served his country proudly during World War II, where he was awarded the Pacific Theater Ribbon, the American Theater Ribbon and the Good Conduct medal. He was a life member of VFW Post 467 in Westminster, MD. Ed retired from Congoleum Industries as a watchman with over twenty years of service. Ed's greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his loving wife, Anna, Ed is survived by his children, Eddie Hale of Finksburg, MD, Steve Hale of Littlestown, PA, Charlie Hale of Finksburg, MD, George Hale of Littlestown, PA, Barb Howard of Glen Rock, PA and Evelyn Welch of Lineboro, MD; ten grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 3, 2016, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ed's memory to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, 2951 Whiteford Rd # 304, York, PA 17402. The Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, has been entrusted by the family with the funeral arrangements.
