Charles Edward Petry, 75, Pinellas Park, FL, formerly of Westminster, MD and Hanover, PA, graduated to heaven on Father's Day, June 18, 2017 at Woodside Hospice, Pinellas Park, FL. Born March 11, 1942 in Pleasant Valley to the late Charles W. and Freida Ebaugh Petry, Charles is survived by his wife, Carolyn Petry, Pinellas Park, FL, son Scott Petry, Holiday, FL, son and daughter-in-law Eric & Theresa Petry, Hanover, PA, daughter Kimberlee Petry Buhrman, Owings Mills, MD, grandson Christian Charles Buhrman, Westminster, MD, sister and brother-in-law Juanita and John Bennett of Westminster, MD, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Albert and Esther Crigger, Largo, FL and sister-in-law Nancy Crigger, Pinellas Park, FL. He is predeceased by sister and brother-in-law, Estella and Paul E. Williams, Westminster (Uniontown), MD. Charles was a 1961 graduate of FSK High School and served in the U.S. Army from August 1961 to July 1967. He was employed as a machinist by Black & Decker, Hampstead, MD and Caterpillar, Inc., York, PA. He retired as a professional driver for Schneider Natl. in 2008. He was an active member of Church of the Open Door in Westminster, MD until he moved to Florida in 2014 where he joined Community Bible Baptist Church in St. Petersburg, FL. Private interment will be held on June 26, 2017 at Bay Pines National Cemetery in St. Petersburg, FL. A memorial service will be held on July 8, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Church of the Open Door, 550 Baltimore Blvd., Westminster. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Church of the Open Door or Community Bible Baptist Church, 3800 17th Ave. N., St. Petersburg, FL 33713.
