Charles Fischer Beck, age 86, of Sykesville, died Thursday, August 28, 1014, at Season Hospice at Northwest Hospital. Born November 10, 1927, in Baltimore, MD he was the son of the late Theodore Monroe Beck and Marie Elsie Fischer Beck. He was the husband of Kathleen Marie Beck (nee Simmons) of Sykesville. Charles had worked as machinist for the Diecraft Division of Bausch and Lomb. He was a veteran of the US Navy. Charles was an avid Ravens fan, Orioles fan and former Colts fan. He enjoyed vegetable gardening. Surviving in addition to his wife are son and daughter-in-law, Charles P. and Kate Beck of Perry Hall; daughter, Maureen Klein of Sykesville, grandchildren; Andrew and Alex Klein and Meghan and Emily Beck and niece and her spouse, Bonnie and Nick Bogdan. He is also survived by several nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by his infant son, Vincent Beck; sister, Garnetta Gibson and son-in-law, Andrew M. Klein. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 3 to 5 & 7 to 9pm at the Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11am. Interment will follow in Loudon Park Cemetery, Baltimore. Those desiring may make memorial donations to The or to the Wounded Warriors Project.
