Charles Franklin "Frank" LePage, age 95 of Eldersburg, died Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Fairhaven in Sykesville. Born October 11, 1922 in Madison, WV, he was the son of the late William Bert LePage and the late Nellie Josephine Reynolds LePage. He was the husband of the late Nancy Reese LePage who died in 2012. After graduating high school, he worked as a control chemist before joining the Navy in 1942. He served as a fighter pilot aboard the aircraft carrier Bennington, with the job of aerial reconnaissance. He received numerous awards for his service, including the Distinguished Flying Cross award. After the war he pursued his education, receiving his Bachelor's degree from Morris Harvey College and his Master's degree from Ohio State University. He worked at Morris Harvey College in Charleston, WV in various capacities from 1947-1978, including Director of Development Funds. He also served on the Police Civil Service Commission and the WV Probation and Parole Board before retiring in 1988. He was a very active member of WV Civitan Club for many decades. He also gave many years of service to his churches- Ruffner and Westminster Presbyterian Churches in WV, and Springfield Presbyterian Church in MD. He served many years as both deacon and elder. He moved from WV to Sykesville MD in 2001. Surviving are son Chuck LePage, daughter Nancy LePage Brightbill and her husband Lon, and grandsons Zachary, Cody and Griffin Brightbill. He was predeceased by his daughter-in-law Jane LePage, by his brothers Reynolds and James LePage, and by his sister Mary Wiseman. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 11:00 am at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 9am until the time of services. Interment will be at a later date in Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, Owings Mills. In lieu of flowers, his children suggest that donations be made to the in their dad's memory.
