Charles Henry Best Hagan Jr., 88, of Hampstead, died Sunday, March 9, 2014, at Carroll Hospice's Dove House.

Born Nov. 19, 1925, in Frederick, he was the son of Charles Henry Best Hagan Sr. and Pauline C. Hagan. He was the husband of Nannette Hagan, his wife of 65 years.

He was a graduate of Towson High School. After high school, he enlisted in the Air Force. He worked at Black & Decker as a mechanical design engineer. 

He enjoyed playing the trombone and musical saw, and had many hobbies including golf, archery, bowling and hunting. He was a member of the Church of the Open Door in Westminster, where he enjoyed playing in the orchestra.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are sons and daughters-in-law Glenn and Linda Hagan, of Westminster, Scott and Debra Hagan, of Abbottstown, Pa., Dean and Kimberly Hagan, of Seven Valleys, Pa., and Todd and Celesa Hagan, of Windsor, Pa.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 22, at Church of the Open Door, 550 Baltimore Blvd., Westminster.
