Charles Reginald "Bud" Heiser, age 95, of Middleburg, died Sunday, December 31, 2017 at the Westminster Healthcare Center. Born December 20, 1922 in Unionville, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Droneburg Heiser. He was the husband of Janet Miller Heiser who died in 2009. Bud was a member of the Middleburg United Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Company B, 368th Engineer Regiment, seeing action in Germany. He was employed as a truck driver, first with Lehigh Portland Cement Co. of Union Bridge, then with Dallas and Mavis and later retired from Dealers Transit. He was a former member of the Terra Rubra Lions Club and enjoyed attending crab feeds in the community with friends and members of the Club. He also enjoyed working on vehicles, spending time with his family and his beloved boxer, "Dozer". Surviving are daughter, Toni Crum and husband Chuck of Westminster; granddaughter, Jessica Eiker and husband T.J. of Emmitsburg; niece, Donna Utermahlen and husband Bill; great nephew, Billy Utermahlen and wife Ann; great great nephews, Nicholas and Matthew Utermahlen and other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sister, Charlotte Brashears and brother, Kenneth Heiser. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 4 at Hartzler Funeral Home, 6 E. Broadway, Union Bridge, with his pastor, Rev. Darrell Davis, officiating. Interment will follow in the Methodist Cemetery, Middleburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 3. Memorial contributions may be made to the Terra Rubra Lions Club, c/o Larry W.
