Charles Joseph Hymiller, Jr., 61, of Finksburg, died Saturday, May 7, 2016 at the University of Maryland Medical Center. Born September 26, 1954 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Charles Joseph Hymiller, Sr. and the late Anna Mae Bower Hymiller. He retired with the rank of sergeant from the Baltimore City Police Department after 30 proud years of service. He had graduated from Woodlawn Senior High School in 1972. He then earned his associates degree from Catonsville Community College. He then enrolled in the University of Baltimore and graduated with a degree in criminal justice. He enjoyed attending Comic Con with C.J. and his adopted sons Jacob Beckhardt, James Ellison and Ryan Peters (Curtis Coughenhour was not as big on comics). He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson when the weather was nice and watching a war movie when the weather was bad. He is survived by son Charles J. 'C.J.' Hymiller, III, sister Cheryl Johnson (Larry), nephew Paul L. Johnson and dogs Princess Leia & Nibblet Hymiller. The family will receive friends Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home, 6028 Sykesville Road, Eldersburg, MD. Funeral services will be held Friday, 1:00PM at the funeral home with the Rev. Donald Haas officiating. Interment will follow in Westminster Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, sympathies may be expressed in the form of contributions to the funeral home to help defray funeral expenses.
