Charlie Walkling, 61, of Westminster, died Saturday, December 10, 2016, at Carroll Hospital. Born in Baltimore, he was the son of Ernest C. Walkling and Kathleen Smith Walkling of Westminster. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Teresa Groft Walkling. In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by a son Richie Walkling and wife Carleen of Pasadena and daughter Jen Walkling of Westminster, brothers Randy Walkling of Finksburg and Ralph Walkling of Littlestown, a granddaughter A.J. Walkling and one granddaughter on the way. Also survived by relatives Billy Groft Sr., Nancy Clegg, Karen Edmondson, Todd Edmondson and fiancé Jenni Sipes, Ronnie Groft, Billy Groft Jr., Ricky Groft, Brian Groft and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother Ray Allen Walkling. Charlie (Chu Chu) was a truck driver and loved going to dirt track races with Richie and enjoyed watching the Baltimore Orioles, Ravens, Maryland Terps and NASCAR racing. He also, enjoyed FDU Women's Basketball and loved going to Jen's basketball games. He was a very proud father and grandfather. "Chu Chu" was full of life and lived life to the fullest. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 13, 2016, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. at the Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 East Main Street, Westminster. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home, with Rev. Dr. Steven Cho officiating. Interment will follow at Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery.
