Christine Colette Martin, 90, of Thurmont, died Saturday, May 24, 2014, at St. Joseph's Ministries in Emmitsburg.

Born Feb. 23, 1924, in France, she was the daughter of the late August and Marie Lepeuchau Jerril. She was the wife of Russell William Martin, who died in 1991.

She was formerly employed with Shriner's Sewing Factory in Woodsboro for 37 years. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Walkersville and the American Legion Auxiliary of Thurmont. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards, knitting and socializing at Mountain Gate.

Surviving are sisters-in-law Sherley Moss, of Walkersville, Mary Martin, of Emmitsburg, and Georgia Martin, of New Windsor; numerous nieces and nephews; and a great-great-nephew, Carter.

She was predeceased by a sister, Marie Jerril.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hartzler Funeral Home, 404 S. Main St., Woodsboro.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with her pastor, the Rev. Mark Foucart, officiating. Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Frederick.
