Christopher Mark Armacost, 46, of San Diego, Calif., died Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at home, after a brief illness.

Born May 3, 1966, in Salem, Mass., he was the son of John C. and Marianne Armacost, of North Hampton, N.H. He was the husband of Gabriella Hajdu, his wife of 15 years, who he married in San Jose, Calif. in 1997.

He graduated from High School in Allendale, N.J. Later, he graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a bachelor of science in Manufacturing Engineering. He also received his masters of business administration from the University of Southern New Hampshire.

He and his wife traveled worldwide extensively and they visited her birthplace in Hungary on numerous occasions. He had spent the major portion of his career in the field of laser photonics technology. For the past six years he has been working as the director of sales for Daylight Solutions in San Diego.

Surviving, in addition to his parents and wife, are sisters Lisa Armacost and husband Kurt Hoffman, of San Diego, Beth Fletcher and husband Robert, of Lincoln, R.I., and Suzanne Armacost, of Monterey, Mass.; brothers John M. Armacost and wife Susan, of Warsaw, Ind., and Timothy Armacost and wife Wendy, of Rutherford, N.J.; a paternal grandmother, Doris Armacost, of Westminster; and four nieces and four nephews.

Memorial services were held in Seagrove Park, in Del Mar, Calif., on Jan. 26. A memorial service on the East Coast will be held in July.
