Christopher Dante Thomas, 23, of Taneytown, Maryland departed this life on December 7, 2015. He was born on the 4th of July 1992in Columbia, Maryland to David and Claudia Thomas. Chris always had a positive outlook on life, definable through these words, by which he lived: "We need more kindness and less judgment and negativity in the world." Chris was known for his charismatic personality, his infectious smile, his unconditional love, and his warm giving spirit. He lived and enjoyed life to the fullest. One of Chris' favorite quotes was "I'm a track star running through life chasing my dreams!" (50 Cent) Chris loved snowboarding. skateboarding, BMX and many other action sports. Chris loved cars and he was never afraid of trying new things. He had a keen eye for fashion, being recognized as best dressed in his senior class high school yearbook, and his absolute favorite place to be was always at the beach. Chris was employed by Maxmore-Hill Restoration, Inc. Chris graduated from Francis Scott Key High School. He attended Shippensburg University, Bowie State University and the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. Chris had outstanding achievements in Track and Field. During his senior year at Francis Scott Key High School, Chris won the Maryland State Track and Field Championship. While attending Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania, Chris qualified for and competed in the NCAA Division II Track and Field National Championships. Chris would say "It's hard to beat a person who never gives up." (Babe Ruth) "Failure is temporary, giving up is permanent. " (Marilyn Vos Savant) Chris leaves fond and loving memories in the hearts of many. He is survived by his parents, David and Claudia Thomas of Taneytown, MD; four brothers, Robert D. Thomas of Atlanta, GA, David Thomas, Jr., Xavier Thomas and Jonathon Thomas of Taneytown, MD; grandmother, Phyllis Warrington Bounds of Columbia, MD; grandfather, Robert (Shirley) Jolley of Mardela Springs, MD, 91 year old great- grandmother, Rosetta Warrington; two maternal uncles, Anthony Warrington of Columbia, MD and Robert Jolley, Jr. of Mardela Springs, MD; four paternal uncles, William Thomas of Taneytown, MD, Steven (Evelyn) Thomas of Severna Park, MD, Dennis Thomas of Germany and Jeffrey Thomas of Upper Marlboro, MD; three paternal aunts. Renee Booker of Huntsville, AL, Rosa Thomas of Memphis, TN and Carolyn Clark of Memphis, TN; and a host of cousins, great-uncles, and great-aunts; life-long friends, Irving Jeffress of Taneytown, MD and Holt Panek of Taneytown, MD; and a host of many more very close friends. Funeral service will be Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Cross Wind Church located at 642 Lucabaugh Mill Road in Westminster, MD where friends may call one hour prior. Interment at Meadow Branch Cemetery in Westminster, MD.
