Cindy L. Ruppert, 59, of Cooksville, died Friday, July 20, 2012, at home after a long battle with breast cancer.

Born Aug. 26, 1952, in Brooklyn Park, she was the daughter of Harry Robert Yauger and the late Betty Crossland Yauger. She was the wife of William D. Ruppert, her husband of 26 years.

She was a 1970 graduate of Brooklyn Park High School. She and her husband are owners of Ruppert Sanitation Inc. in Owings Mills, and were founders and owners of All-Star Refuse Disposal Inc., before selling that business in 1998.

She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Brooklyn Park. She enjoyed spending time with her family and dog, Gizmo, but especially her two sons. She also enjoyed trips to Hollywood Casino at Charlestown, W.Va., with her dad to play the slots.

Surviving, in addition to her father and husband, are sons William Kyle Ruppert, and Christan Bryce Fish and wife Julie.

She was predeceased a brother, Harry Robert Yauger Jr.

A memorial service will be held at noon Saturday at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville, with the Rev. Neil O'Farrell officiating. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Breast Center at Mercy Hospital, St. Paul Place, Baltimore, MD 21202; or to Seasons Hospice, 6934 Aviation Blvd., Suite N-R, Glen Burnie, MD 21061.
