Clara R. Jones, 67, of Aiken, S.C., formerly of Littlestown, Pa., died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at University Hospital in Augusta, Ga., after a lengthy illness.

Born Jan. 30, 1945, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late George P. and Rose Freimiller. She was the wife of Bruce H. Jones, her husband of 47 years, who she married in September 1965.

She was raised in Baltimore and was a 1962 graduate of Kenwood High School.

She lived in Littlestown for 30 years, retiring in 2008 and moving to Aiken. She worked most of her life as a doctor's receptionist and then volunteered at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

She enjoyed her new home, her cats and her friends and neighbors in Cedar Creek, as well as her co-workers at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a daughter, Sharon Y. Newton; a grandson, Jonathan G. Newton; a son, Kenneth Scott Jones; brothers Ernest Freimiller and wife Joan, and their son William R. Freimiller, all of Forest Hills, and Dennis Freimiller and wife Vickie, of Chrisfield; brother-in-law Raymond M. Jones Jr. and wife Jo Ann, of Mena, Ark.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a brother, George E. Freimiller.

Per her request, she was cremated. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
