Clarence Edward Beard, 97, of Pikesville, died Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, at home.

He was the son of the late Harvey and Fanny Beard. He was the husbad of the late LaVaughn C. Beard.

He was a 1932 graduate of Westminster High School, and a 1940 graduate of Western Maryland College.

Surviving are children Christine Beard, Ernest Ross Beard and wife Marlyn, Holly Foster and Daryl Beard; grandchildren Sarah Alvarez and husband Jeff, Dan Foster and fiancee Bonnie Kaufman, and Rosslyn Kamille Beard; a great-granddaughter, Maya Kaufman-Foster; a sister, Alice Kordisch; brother-in-law Warren Hansen and wife Dot; extended family Tepy and Kimramy Lor and their daughter Ashley; and nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and many former music students from Milford Mill Senior High School.

He was predeceased by brothers and sisters Helen Horne, Earl Beard, Irene Hansen and Carroll Beard.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at The First Unitarian Church of Baltimore, corner of Charles and Franklin streets, Baltimore, with music beginning at 1:30 p.m.
