Clinton R. Owings, 94, of Reisterstown, died on Friday, May 25, 2012, at Carroll Hospital Center.

Born on March 24, 1918, in Reisterstown, he was the son of the late Charles H. and Mary D. Rawlings Owings. He was the husband of the late Dolores E. Mitchell Owings.

He had worked in the furniture repair business. He served in the U.S. Army and was past commander of the American Legion Post #116 in Reisterstown and a member of the VFW Post #521 in Owings Mills.

He is survived by a daughter, Janice E. Owings, of Hampstead; daughters and sons-in-law Darlene O. and Stephen L. Schultz, of Reisterstown, and Cindy M. and Russell L. Thompson, of Finksburg; sisters Bertha Cooper, of Glyndon, and Dorothea Miller, of Reisterstown; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a son, Ronald C. Owings; brothers Robert C. Nelson, and Marion E. and William F. Owings; and sister Sarah Elizabeth Owings.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Eline Funeral Home, 11824 Reisterstown Road, Reisterstown.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in All Saints' Cemetery.
