Larry Frances Brown, 57, of Killen, Texas, and formerly of Westminster, passed suddenly after a brief sickness on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 in Houston. He was born on February 4, 1959, at the family home in New Windsor, Maryland and was the son of Louis Brown and the late Jane Brown, and step-son of Beatrice Brown. He was the loving husband of Juanita Speights, whom he married March 25, 1988, and shared many wonderful memories together for 28 years. Larry was a graduate of Westminster High School class of 1978. After high school he enlisted in the United States Army where he proudly served his country for 30 years, until his retirement on December 31, 2008. After his military career, he worked as a Civil Service Employee for the Department of Human Resources at Fort Hood, Texas until retirement. He enjoyed his motorcycle, hot rods, and fishing. Above all he loved his family and calling his Dad every Saturday morning. In addition to his wife he is survived by children Sharod Francis Brown and Sabina L. Miller both of Killeen, TX; brother Blaine A. Brown (Jeanette) of Westminster; sisters Helen Brown and Cherie Brown both of York, PA; step-brother Charles Biggus; step-sisters Cherly Gibson, Anita Biggus, and Credella Biggus; grandchildren Quintyne Tomas and Jahron Miller of Killeen, TX; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded by brother Louis Brown, Jr. Funeral Services will be Thursday, October 13, 2016 at 12:00 noon at Greater Peace Missionary Baptist Church, 4201 Zephyr Rd., Killen, TX 76543, with a visitation two hours prior to the start of services. Burial with full military honors will follow the service at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Chisolms Family Funeral Home. The family will hold a service in Westminster, at a future date to be announced.
