Curtis Lee Snyder, Sr., 73, of Westminster, died Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at Carroll Hospital Center.

Born April 30, 1940, in Westminster, he was the son of the late Curtis N. and Goldie Rinehart Snyder. He was the husband of Faye Gesell Snyder, who he married July 31, 1960.

He was a 1958 graduate of St. John School. He worked as a window clerk for the Westminster Post Office for 40 years.

He was a member of Deer Park United Methodist Church. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed attending college football games and listening to bluegrass music.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are sons Curtis L. Snyder Jr. and wife Nancy, of Chappaqua, N.Y., and Brian G. Snyder and wife Cody, of Westminster; sisters Darby Drobnek and husband Richard, of Eldersburg, and Mary Alice Snyder, of Westminster; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Joyce and Sam Cole, Darlene and Tom Jones, and Debby and Ron Finkner all of Westminster; grandchildren Elizabeth, Andrew, Matthew, Helena and Daphne Snyder; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster; and from 9 a.m. until the time of service, 10 a.m. Saturday at Deer Park United Methodist Church, 2205 Sykesville Road, Westminster, with the Rev. Dr. Mary Jo Sims officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
