Dale A. Baker, 72, of Hanover, Pa., died Sunday, May 5, 2013, at Hanover Hospital, after a long illness.

Born in Hurley, Wis., he was the son of the late Albert and Esther Baker. He was the husband of Nina Baker.

He had served with the United States Navy and received a bachelor's degree in business administration and economics from Wisconsin State University, in White Water, Wis., in 1966.

He was a member of Annunciation Blessed Virgin Mary Church and the Loyal Order of the Moose No. 720, both in McSherrystown, Pa. and the Hanover BPOE No. 763, in Hanover; a former member of the Westminster BPOE No. 2277; and the Westminster Moose Family Center Lodge No. 1381. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing cards. He was well known for gardening and sharing his vegetables with friends and neighbors.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are sons Brian Baker and companion Shena Hill, of Taneytown, and Dale Baker, of Lawrenceville, Ga,; grandsons Brent, Bradley, and Chase Baker; and sister and brother-in-law Gale and Mike Boggio, of Michigan.

He was predeceased by a son, Brent Baker.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of memorial service, 11 a.m. Thursday at Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway Street, Hanover, Pa., with the Rev. Lawrence Sherdel officiating. Interment will be in Annunciation BVM Cemetery, with military honors being rendered by the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Littlestown Dialysis Center, 43 Columbus Ave., Littlestown, PA 17340.
