Dallas Calvin Wampler, 86, of Westminster, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at the Carroll Hospice Dove House. Born on July 3, 1928 in Wakefield Valley, Carroll County, he was the son of the late B. Frank and Hattie Furhman Wampler. He was the husband of the late Verona L. Wampler, who predeceased him on November 16, 1997. Dallas was a Coppersmith for 39 years with Domino Sugar in Baltimore. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and was an Orioles fan. Surviving him are daughters and sons-in-laws Debbie and Michael Leazer of Westminster and Bonnie and Ben Franklin of Beaufort, SC; grandchildren Jackie Englebrake and husband Chris, Christine Leazer, and Regina Franklin; and great grandson Ivan Allen V. He was predeceased by sisters Marie Utermahlen and Naomi Strevig and by brother Charles Wampler. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Art Monroe, Jr., hospice chaplain, officiating. Interment will be in Moreland Memorial Park Cemetery, Baltimore. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Carroll Hospice Dove House, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157.
