Damian Guy Varga, age 60, died Thursday, July 3, 2014 at Howard County General Hospital. Born January 18, 1954 in Elizabeth, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Margaret Joan Varga and Dr. Nicholas Varga. He is survived by his devoted wife of 36 years, Barbara France Varga, of Sykesville, MD. He was a loving father to his son Patrick Varga and wife Emily, and cherished PaPa to his grandson, Connor, all of Westminster, MD. Also surviving are sister Deidre Krasnansky of Westminster, MD and brother Colin Varga of Boston, MA. Other survivors include his mother-in-law Ruth France and brother-in-law and sisters-in-law Steve and Carol France, and Nancy McIntyre. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, great nephews, a great niece, and numerous cousins in Texas, Michigan, and New Jersey, and his much loved uncle Tom Skinner and wife Doris of Michigan. Many good friends and professional colleagues have been blessed by his life. He graduated from Loyola College, now Loyola University Maryland, in 1980. He was employed in the green industry for almost 40 years. He was active in several professional associations in the industry. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 26 from 1:00 PM until the time of the memorial service at 2:00 PM, at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E Main St., Westminster, MD with the Very Reverend Conan Timoney officiating. Damian will also be remembered at the regularly scheduled 9:15 AM Byzantine Catholic mass on Sunday, July 27 at Patronage of the Mother of God Church, 1265 Linden Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21227. Friends and family are welcome to attend.
