Darrell "Pokey" Wayne Weishaar, age 47, of Union Bridge, died Saturday, September 26, 2015 at his home, following a short illness. Born July 29, 1968 in Frederick, he was the son of the late James Robert and Betty Jean Grable Weishaar. After an accident in 1984 Pokey was wheelchair-bound, but remained very independent. He was a 1986 graduate of Francis Scott Key High School; a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2226 of Littlestown, PA; and a life member of the North American Hunt Club and North American Fishing Club. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and was an avid fan of the Baltimore Orioles and Ravens. Surviving are two brothers, Robert J. Weishaar and wife, Brenda of York Springs, PA and John William "Bill" Weishaar and wife, Debbie of New Windsor; one niece; five nephews one great-niece and two great-nephews. A gathering of family and friends will be held 1 to 4 pm, Saturday, October 3 at the Terra Rubra Lions Club Building, 6300 Middleburg Rd., Keymar. Rev. Richard L. Michael, pastor of St. James Lutheran Church, Union Bridge, will offer the eulogy from 1 to 1:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Terra Rubra Lions Club, 7136 Keysville Rd., Keymar, MD 21757 or Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Ave, Westminster, MD 21157.
