David Allan Barcroft, 55, of Hampstead, died Friday, Aug. 24, 2012, at the Dove House in Westminster.

Born Oct. 18, 1956, in Richland, Wash., he was the son of John and Jean Barcroft, of Tavares, Fla. He was the husband of Ann Dorwart Barcroft, who he was married to for 32 years.

He retired as a Maryland State Trooper after 26 years. He was a contractor in D.C. and the Pentagon for Homeland Security.

He was a member of Living Hope Baptist Church. He enjoyed classical music, traveling, vacationing with his family and playing with his granddaughter. He also had his pilot's license.

Surviving, in addition to his wife and parents, are daughter Amy Barcroft and son-in-law Matt Peregoy, of Gettysburg, Pa.; son Justin Barcroft, of Shrewsbury, Pa.; granddaughter Johnna Peregoy; brothers Michael Barcroft and wife Brenda, of Travelers Rest, S.C.; and Duane Barcroft and wife Pam, of Monmouth, Ill.; sister Carolyn Evaro and husband Roy, of Wilmington, N.C.; sister-in-law Tina Barcroft; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, Neil Barcroft.

The family will receive friends 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at Eline Funeral Home, 934 S. Main Street, Hampstead.

A funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. with the Rev. David LeBlanc officiating. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Baltimore Rescue Mission, 4 N. Central Ave., Baltimore, MD 21202.
