David Allen Hughes, 62, of Westminster, died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, at his brother's home in Hanover, Pa.

Born Feb. 6, 1950, he was the son of Nora Ruth Davis Hughes, of Hanover, and the late David Hughes. He was the husband of Karen L. Burkhead Hughes.

He was self-employed in the transportation industry. He attended St. John's Catholic Church in Westminster. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping.

Surviving, in addition to his mother and wife, are daughter Terri Lynne Williams and husband Jeffrey, of Hanover; sons Timothy Allen Hughes and wife Carrie, of Jacobus, Pa., Logan Brett Hughes and wife Jasmyne, and Brett Allen Hughes and wife Michelle, all of Cockeysville, David Allen Hughes III and wife Kate, of Glen Rock, Pa., and Kyle Allen Hughes, of Owings Mills; brothers Bradley Hughes and companion Gwen, and Billy Hughes and wife Tanya, all of Hanover, and Dewey Hughes and wife Donna, of Hyndman, Pa.; sisters Wilma Weigle and husband Michael, of Biglerville, Pa., and Brenda Hyser and husband Robert, of Westminster; grandchildren Jeffrey, Alexander, Colin, Violet, Lauren, Riley, Camden, Gavin and Avery; great-grandchildren Ethan and Evan; a former wife, Melanie Lee Sick Hughes, of Owings Mills.

He was predeceased by a sister, Emma Alice Hughes.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Jefferson Free Will Baptist Cemetery, 4740 Sportsman Club Road, Jefferson, Pa., with the Rev. David Scarfide officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Free Will Baptist Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Wetzel Funeral Home & Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover.
