David F. Metzbower Jr., 87, of Hanover, Pa., died Sunday, March 17, 2013, at Transitions Health Care in Gettysburg, Pa.

Born April 17, 1925, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late David and Alice Hamilton Metzbower. He was the husband of the late Audrey L. Metzbower, his wife of 61 years.

He was a World War II Navy veteran and had been a typesetter for a printing company prior to his retirement.

Surviving are stepdaughter Louise Starkey and husband Beau Starkey, of Manchester; stepson Richard Keyser and wife Barbara Keyser, of Easton; brother Mike Metzbower and wife Joan Metzbower, of Bel Air; sisters Betty Murphy, of Arizona, and Norma Browne and Nancy Johnson, both of Baltimore; step-grandchildren Terri and husband Dave Hooper, and David Starkey and wife Liza, all of Westminster, Debbie Schlitzer, of Hampstead, Ed Starkey and Kristen Keyser, both of Hanover, Richard Keyser Jr., of State College, Pa., and Debbie Williams, of Easton; and step-great-grandchildren Annie Rooney, Daniel and Matthew Hooper, Andrew and Elizabeth Starkey, Brandan and Nathan Schlitzer, Eric Hufnagle II, and Kaitlynn and Morgan Williams.

He was predeceased by a brother, Harry Metzbower; sisters Doris Murphy, Elaine Tittle and Joan Nigro; and a step-grandson, Keith Starkey.

Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Eline Funeral Home, 934 S. Main St., Hampstead.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park.
