David "Dave" James Cooke, 60, of Manchester, died suddenly of natural causes on the evening of January 26, 2018 at Hanover Hospital in Pennsylvania. He was born on September 12, 1957 in Baltimore to the late Robert Joseph and Rosemary Elizabeth (Brady) Cooke. David was a student of St. John Catholic School and Westminster High School. He was a self-employed HVAC mechanic and owned his own business. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, helping other people, refurbishing old homes, fixing up historic cars, finding a good yard sale and he had a love for classic RV's. David also favored traveling to Florida to visit his childhood friend, Terry and going on trips with his longtime friend, Angie. He was an avid Ravens fan and followed the LPGA tournaments. Many described him as a person with a heart of gold and that his kindness and generosity knew no bounds. David was predeceased by his brother Timothy Cooke. He is survived by his three children, Marisa E. Cooke and her fiancé, Joseph Zaccagnini of Eldersburg, Hannah R. Cooke and Benjamin R. Cooke of Taneytown, as well as his former wife, Karen Cooke. He is also survived by his siblings: Suzanne and Ed Carroll of Littlestown, PA; Jeffrey and Sharon Cooke of Gettysburg, PA; Carole and Mickey Iafrate of Manchester, MD; Robert "Bob" and Shirley Cooke of New Oxford, PA, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members. David was also an organ donor, choosing to selflessly give part of himself to others through the Gift of Life. David's family welcomes all of those that loved him to attend a celebration of life gathering on Saturday, February 3, 2018 from 9:30a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, located at 412 Washington Road in Westminster, MD. A memorial service will take place at the funeral home immediately following, beginning at 11:00a.m. A private inurnment will be held at a later date.
