David Lawrence Robey, 54, of Westminster, died Thursday, March 28, 2013, at his home after a brief battle with cancer.

Born Jan. 25, 1959, in District Heights, he was the son of Ashton Leon and Virginia Blandford Robey, of Waldorf. He was the husband of Kathleen Soper Robey, his wife of almost 20 years.

He was a graduate of Bishop McNamara Catholic High School in District Heights. He worked at Knorr Brake in Westminster.

He was a Harley Davidson motorcyclist and traveled with his wife and friends throughout the United States. He was a Boy Scout and a Cub Scout leader. He supported his children's athletic teams at Westminster High School, including wrestling, track, lacrosse and volleyball. He enjoyed motocross racing with his son and boating and fishing.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are children Rachel Kaitlin Kinsey and husband Ryan J. Kinsey, of El Paso, Texas, Brandon James Robey and Aaron Michael Robey, both of Westminster; brother Marks S. Robey and wife Mary S., of Alexandria, Va.; nieces Lauren and Stephanie Robey and nephew Philip Robey, all of Alexandria; sister-in-law Deborah Soper O'Hara, of Westminster; brothers-in-law Richard W. Soper and wife Eileen, of Westminster, and Tim Soper and his friend Jazmin Moreira, of Dallas, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 and 5 until the time of service at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.
