David Michael Hajzer, 54, of Taneytown, died Friday, June 8, 2012, at Washington Hospital Center after an extended illness.

Born Feb. 5, 1958, in New Jersey, he was the son of the late Joseph J. and Jean P. Thomas Hajzer. He was the husband of Andrea Woodson Hajzer, his wife of 10 years.

He was a 1975 graduate of Woodbridge High School and a graduate of Rutgers University. He was a member of Middleburg United Methodist Church. He was employed in sales and enjoyed football, cooking and being with his family.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughters Elizabeth M. and Erin N. Hajzer and Stacey L. Click, all of Taneytown; brothers John Hajzer, of Newell, W.Va., and Michael Hajzer and wife Mary Ann, of Snowshoe, W.Va.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hartzler Funeral Home, 6 E. Broadway, Union Bridge, with the Rev. Charles Slaugh, former church pastor, officiating.

Interment will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Winfield.

The family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
