David Michael Reese, 25, of Keymar, died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, at his residence.

Born Nov. 24, 1988, in Baltimore, he was the son of Michael and Shawn Smith Reese.

He attended Mother Seton School and was a 2006 graduate of Delone Catholic High School. He was one semester away from completing his degree with Salisbury University.

He enjoyed glass blowing, baseball, music, dancing, the beach, the Ravens, spending time with family and friends, including his dog Leo, and purchasing the latest electronic devices.

He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Union Bridge, where he had been a Sunday school teacher.

Surviving, in addition to his parents, are maternal grandmother Doris Smith, of Middleburg; a godmother, Pam Blair; a godfather, Jon Kubas; 23 aunts and uncles; and 80 cousins.

He was predeceased by a brother, Brooks Michael; a sister, Courtney Brooke; cousins Shane Miller and Logan Crepeau; paternal grandparents Edith and Carroll Reese; and a maternal grandfather, William Smith Sr.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Hartzler Funeral Home, 6 E. Broadway, Union Bridge.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. James Lutheran Church, 14 S. Benedum St., Union Bridge, with the Rev. Dave Bare, former interim pastor of St. James Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will be in Haugh's Cemetery, near Ladiesburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to St. James Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 1060, Union Bridge, MD 21791.
